Spike and Lindy Fortier Alaskan Discovery RV Tours has been in operation since 1991 and is owned and managed by Lindy and Gilbert “Spike” Fortier. We are a licensed, well-established Alaskan tour company with deep roots in the Alaska community and we are committed to showing you Alaska at an affordable price, in a fascinating and safe environment.

Alaskan Discovery RV Tours operates under a permit from the USDA Forest Service. In addition, we are a member of the Alaska State Chamber of Commerce, the Alaskan Travel Industry Association. We have been accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) since 2005 and were approved as meeting BBB OnLine standards in 2005. This year we have been nominated for "2012 Business of the Year" Torch Award

We Maximize Your Experience

Our licensed, experienced Alaskan guides lead you personally through the course of the 34-day caravan tour.
We guide you with lectures, city tours and a full narration, even while we are driving.
We issue VHF radios to each rig and will offer instant communication with all staff members and act like a party line so we can chat among ourselves as we travel. Also for quick response to any Mechanical or Medical emergencies
Our Staff Research Historian presents interesting and entertaining lectures.
Our tour price includes RV Parks, Tours, Dinners, gratuities/tips, events and activities.

We Offer Safety, Security and Comfort

We have four support vehicles with full guide staff
We are the only Caravan Company that has Certified CPR/BLS and Trained AED (Heart defibrillator machine) personnel, with a state of the art machine on each tour.
We also have a full line of Medical accessories such as Oxygen, Oxygen rate sensor, Eppy pen & miscellaneous items.
To help ensure everyone is comfortable, we take numerous 15 minute stops during the travel day to stretch and stay active
We are the only Caravan Company that has a Certified RV repair technician on the tour
A long range VHF radio is supplied to each RV rig for communications among the group and staff
We also carry a International cell phone and the latest "state of the art" Iridium Satellite phone to easily deal with any emergency that may come up, regardless of remoteness with free use by customers when cell phones are out of range.
We conduct Prayer meetings on the Sundays we are on the road
Before the tour begins, we inspect all rigs and screen the radiators at no charge
